LIttle By Little
I'm finding it very hard to start my work =/ Always the same after every holiday i have really. It doesn't help that i've been playing the new Tomb Raider game =)
Tomb Raider Legend has been really fun to play actually. I heard really bad things about the previous game, though it's been the only one i've never played, nobody knew what to expect. The game engine is really different to the previous game - much more like Prince of Persia (without all the stupid running along wall moves) - but the game still feels like Tomb Raider in my opinion.
The graphics are great and the gameplay really fluid since there's no grid system and the controls aren't actually too bad. The controls can occasionally be a bit wierd (i did start playing it with a pad but reverted back to keyboard/mouse) but they let you do a lot quite easily. The actual Lara character is a lot better than the other sequels, she looks and sounds a little different but definately in a good way and interacts and speaks a lot more.
The levels are really interesting and fun to play through and the storyline is very Tomb Raider, though more movie like as every game seems to be these days. "Croft Manor" is also quite good and took nearly an hour to complete! A couple of negatives would be that the levels can be a little short, the combat is nice but a little too different for me and it's also been a little linear and lacking in puzzels you actually have to think about. All in all i'm having fun playing it and recommend it =)
Well, i wasn't planning on writing a review but there you go. I'll give it 8.5/10. I've decided to do my Emerging Technologies essay on Nanotechnology which i'm actually looking forward too once i finally get round to it. I have just under 2 weeks and i need to start my research soon. It also doesn't help that the Snooker World Championships are currently on =/
Big congrats to Middlesbrough last night - once more we were in a situation where we needed to score 4 goals and scored the 4th in the 90th minute =) They're in the UEFA Cup Final and it's only their 2nd season in europe all together which is fantastic. Another woo for Liverpool in the FA Cup Final =)
I'll leave you with Dave the Chameleon, i saw this on tv with Becky the other night and couldn't quite believe it =)

BTW i'm not promoting Labour in the slightest by displaying this video, i just couldn't believe they could get away with it and think it's poor that their party political broadcasts are so negative.
Looks like the liberals are going to win Hull for a change -- and they certainly couldn't do a worse job!
I was thinking about playing the new TR, especially since you mention it has nice a PoP style engine - I hated the TR invisible grid system, although I can see its merits.
Unfortunatly, I'm an RPG nerd at heart, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is literally taking up *all* of my free time. It's amazing. I've sunk about 40 hours into and not even touched the main storyline yet. I'm in love.
